Wing Commander Namansh Syal, a 34-year-old Indian Air Force pilot from Himachal Pradesh, died in a Tejas fighter jet crash during the Dubai Air Show on Friday, November 21. Developed by Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL), a single-seat Light Combat Aircraft went down during a practice and demonstration flight at the prestigious event at around 2:10 pm local time, reported NDTV.
Multiple television channels broadcast footage showing the Tejas jet losing altitude before smashing into the ground and exploding into a massive ball of fire.
The cause of the crash is still uncertain, and a court of inquiry has been constituted to investigate the matter.
