The Karnataka government is preparing to host its first international job fair in Bengaluru in January 2026, aimed at connecting skilled workers with employment opportunities in companies based outside India. Drawing inspiration from Kerala’s overseas employment initiatives, the event marks Karnataka’s maiden attempt to organise a global recruitment platform of this scale.

According to a report by The New Indian Express, the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood is leading this major exercise to support skilled labourers seeking placements with overseas employers.
