Gary Rowett admitted to mixed emotions after the draw between his Oxford United side and Middlesbrough - with the U’s boss making changes and feeling his side could have taken all three points on offer.

Oxford led 1-0 at the interval thanks to Luke Harris’ strike before the half-hour mark. It followed Rowett’s admission ahead of the game that they’d used the recent international break working on improvements after their recent poor form left them sitting fourth bottom of the Championship.

Adi Viveash noted the changes after the game too, notably that Rowett had gone with younger legs and a far more aggressive press. Boro still managed to control the ball through the majority of the game, but they could only take one point on the day, largely because of their attacking struggles.
