COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Bryce Underwood walked through the doors of a small room perched atop the field at Maryland football’s stadium and let it out.
“Woooooo,” the freshman quarterback bellowed, only members of the media and the Michigan football team in earshot. One week ago, critics were pulling apart Underwood’s game in a walk-off win over Northwestern. He accounted directly for two of the Wolverines’ jaw-dropping five turnovers, was involved in two others. It wasn’t his cleanest performance, yet Underwood still had the fortitude to help his team to victory.
On Saturday, in a 45-20 win over lowly Maryland , Underwood put that performance to bed once and for all.
