Daughter 'numb but elated' after handyman who murdered her family in 1986 'mansion massacre' dies in prison View 2 Images

It was a 'massacre' in every way when a handyman murdered four people at a mansion dinner party. George Stephenson, 73, was jailed in 1987 for rape, robbery and murder but has died in jail leaving the daughter of a victim 'numb' but 'elated'.

YorkshireLive reported the killer died on April 20 at high security HMP Full Sutton, near York. This week, a report by the Prisons Ombudsman found Stephenson had died in hospital of heart failure and ischaemic heart disease.

Going back to the horrific murder , Stephenson had once worked as a handyman at Burgate House, a secluded mansion in Fordingbridge on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire.
