When the Marina Square development in Bremerton was finished in 2022, the nearby corner of Burwell Street and Washington Avenue sat empty, no longer home to Boston's Deli and Pizza, or the Crazy for Confectionary bakery.

Now a new bakery and cafe are open side-by-side on that corner, sharing the goal of inspiring more business activity downtown and the desire to collaborate and support each other as neighbors.

The bakery, Ana's Dough-Jo, opened in May at 214 Burwell St. and has been quietly run by a professional chef who makes grab-and-go meals, treats, and catering orders from scratch. Next door, the family-owned Cafe Omni opened mid-November at 206 Burwell St., with a specialty in plant-based or healthy meals, desserts, and drinks.
