Pune, 23 November 2025: To curb the frequent accidents reported on the Katraj bypass, the Pune City Traffic Department has announced a strict new speed limit on the stretch from the new Katraj tunnel to Navale Bridge. The order has been issued by Police Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav.

According to the official notification (Ref. No. जा.क्र./पोउआ/वाह/10020/2025), excessive speeding has been a major cause of repeated accidents on this busy outer ring road. To improve safety, reduce congestion, and ensure smooth movement of vehicles, the maximum speed on the Bhumkar Bridge to Navale Bridge route will now be .
