Governor Kathy Hochul on Nov. 10 announced $61 million in Green Resiliency Grants to fund eight major stormwater infrastructure projects across New York State, including $17.8 million in New York City.
The grants, backed by the Clean Water, Clean Air and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act of 2022, aim to strengthen communities against flooding, protect clean water and reduce the strain on wastewater systems as climate impacts intensify.
“Too many communities have experienced the devastation of severe flooding, and that’s why we’re investing in resiliency initiatives to protect vulnerable areas and make our state stronger and more resilient,” Hochul said.
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection will receive $10 million for the North and South Conduit Median Green Infras
