BURBANK – Two men from New York and a woman from Rhode Island were in custody, accused of forcibly stealing property from a person involved in an unrelated vehicle crash in Burbank, authorities said Saturday.

The crash and robbery occurred Tuesday about 10:45 p.m. at Third Street and Delaware Road, according to the Burbank Police Department.

When officers arrived, the people involved in the crash told them they had just been robbed, police said. They said they were approached by two men who were not involved in the crash, and who engaged them in conversation before attempting to remove a gold necklace from one by force, resulting in a physical fight, Burbank police said.

The suspects stole one victim’s property and got into a waiting white SUV driven by a woman, police said.
