A busy road has been closed in the capital after a motorcyclist was injured in a one-vehicle crash.

An image captured by a worried local showed emergency services in attendance at an incident on Longston Road (northbound) at the Calder Roundabout.

Police responded to a call at 1.50pm on Sunday November 23, with officers stating the road remains closed with personnel on site.

Paramedics could be seen treating the rider before they were taken to a hospital as a precaution.

It is understood the incident led to delays for motorists in the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.50pm police were called to a single-vehicle crash on Longstone Road at the Calder Roundabout, Edinburgh.

"The motorcyclist has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

"Officers remain at the scene
