An Edinburgh family have revealed how they were awoken by a doorbell notification as police descended on their community.

A mum, who wished to remain anonymous, spoke of how a young male appeared on her doorbell footage as he creeped through her garden at 1.45am on Sunday November 23.

Police Scotland were conducting a manhunt with dog teams through back gardens on Broomhouse Crescent and Broomhouse Grove.

Edinburgh Live previously reported how a man had made off from cops on St John’s Road before crashing into a vehicle on Saughton Road and fleeing the scene on foot.

Police say they are still looking for the culprit.
