Amid as much as uncertainty as ever around federal food benefits, the recent federal shutdown and food and housing security and affordability, Chandler city leaders made two announcements at one of its recent meetings.
Council member Jane Poston and AZCEND food bank CEO and former Council member Trinity Donovan presented a donation box, at the Nov. 10 regular meeting, showing some of the typical and most-sought dry items food banks seek, while announcing the expansion of AZCEND’s collection efforts.
Later in the meeting, Acting City Manager John Pombier responded to Council member O.D. Harris’ requests for more information on how the city can help with increased food insecurity.
