There's always something special about a World Cup year, and as soon as the new calenders go up on New Year's Day, thoughts will turn to the forthcoming tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

England have already booked their place at next summer's tournament with an imperious qualifying tournament, and will join the big names from across world football in 2026.

Thomas Tuchel has some big decisions to make when it comes to picking his squad, of course, and several Newcastle United players will be looking to make a big impression between now and next June.

England will meet during the March international break, with post-season friendlies and training squads in the schedule to help Tuchel whittle down the numbers.
