BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Twin brothers Isaac and Lance Bond have reached Bowling Green on the 50th day of their cross-country walking journey that began in Lake Erie, Ohio.

The 21-year-old brothers are walking roughly 20 miles per day as they head south to beat winter weather.

“We’re doing roughly 20 miles a day now until we get south, just so we can beat the snow,” Lance said.

The brothers plan to reach Jacksonville, Florida before heading west to California. They said the most challenging part of their trek so far was swimming across the Ohio River.

“It was November 3rd, like 61 degrees,” said Lance.

Both said they didn’t anticipate the shock of jumping into the cold water, but completed the half-mile swim to the other side.
