TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Tempe police say more than 200 arrests were made this week during an underage drinking bust at a bar popular with college-goers.
Officers said they made 249 arrests on Thursday at the Tempe Tavern, located at the northeast corner of Apache Boulevard and McClintock Drive. The bar is less than three miles from Arizona State University.
Out of the 249 arrests, 246 were cited and released, and three were booked into the Tempe City Jail.
While authorities haven’t given a full breakdown on arrests or citations, police said offenses included having a fake ID card, being drunk while underage, and providing fake information to police. In total, 57 law enforcement officers participated in the operation, which included local, state and federal agencies.
