Michigan’s convincing win over Maryland yesterday has it moving up in the polls.

The Wolverines jumped three spots to No. 15 in the newest AP Top 25 unveiled on Sunday , leapfrogging Southern Cal and Texas in the process, improving their chances of moving into the College Football Playoff field.

Michigan (9-2, 7-1 Big Ten) was 18th last week in the all-important CFP rankings, with a due poll due out Tuesday night.

MLive’s Aaron McMann, one of 66 media members with a vote in the AP poll, ranked the Wolverines 16th this week.

The top of the AP poll remains unchanged, with Ohio State claiming the top spot, followed by idle Indiana (2), Texas A&M (3) and Georgia (4).
