ANN ARBOR, MI — James Park loves his mother’s food so much that he refuses to eat at other Korean restaurants, preferring only eating at his parents’ home.
His mother’s cooking also inspired him to pursue cooking as a career.
Park is the executive chef at Bori Korean Kitchen & Bar, 311 S. Main St., which opened its doors on Thursday, Nov. 13.
The new restaurant sits on the second floor above the brewery Jolly Pumpkin. Mission Restaurant Group, which owns both businesses, previously used the second floor for the brewery.
“Bori is deeply personal to me,” Park said. “It’s where the food I grew up with meets the place I call home. Every flavor, every dish — it’s a piece of that connection.”
