The Montana State football team received the No. 2 seed in the 2025 FCS playoffs, the FCS playoff committee announced Sunday morning.

The top seed is North Dakota State, which beat MSU in last season's national championship game. NDSU and MSU will each host their postseason opener in two weeks. If they win those second-round games, they'll also play at home in the quarterfinals, then in the semifinals if they advance.

The Bobcats (10-2) will host Montana (11-1) in the semis if both rivals win their first two playoff games. The Grizzlies received the No. 3 seed, which guarantees home games in the second round and quarters (if they advance past the second round).
