MISSOULA — Throughout the 124th Brawl of the Wild, a plane flew over Washington-Grizzly Stadium towing a banner that read, “GO CATS GO BEAT THE GRIZ.”
Thousands of feet below, the Cats did just that.
The No. 3-ranked Montana State football team (10-2, 8-0 Big Sky) earned a 31-28 win over No. 2 Montana (11-1, 7-1) on Saturday afternoon to become the first road team to win a Brawl since the 2018 “Miracle in Missoula.” In the process, the Bobcats earned their second straight outright Big Sky Conference title and all but secured home field advantage through the semifinals of the FCS playoffs.
MSU head coach Brent Vigen improved his Cat-Griz record to 3-2, and it was his first win at Wa-Griz.
