Eighteen-year-old AJ Dybantsa is one of the top basketball prospects in the nation. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, he's a freshman at BYU.
If you watch AJ play, you'd think he's had a basketball in his hands since he was a baby.
Ace Dybantsa is AJ's dad, and tells SportsCenter 5's Angel Salcedo that it is far from his son's story.
"He was born in Boston. He grew up in Brockton. So, I mean, this area means a lot to us," Dybantsa said. "I'm from the Congo. I grew up playing soccer, but I knew my son would be tall. I'm like, this kid isn't playing soccer. I want to get him into basketball, and he didn't like it. I tried to force him, and it didn't work. What saved me was that he was in love with Spider-Man.
