Wicked: For Good dominated the weekend box office and broke multiple records. The moviehas been listed as one of the most anticipated movies of 2025, with many expecting it to fly higher at the box office than its predecessor, which wowed audiences with $112 million opening back in November 2024. Wicked: For Good's opening weekend not only surpassed Wicked, but even saw a higher opening weekend return domestically than the $134 million opening weekend for James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water. This will make December's Avatar: Fire and Ash an interesting one to watch.
