A Fairbanks grand jury indicted a Palmer man on Thursday for one count of felony third-degree assault and two counts of second-degree terroristic threatening after pointing a rifle at the Santa Claus House and threatening a grocery store employee early Tuesday morning in North Pole.

According to a North Pole Police Department report, 25-year-old Nathanial J. Caole was reportedly seen on surveillance camera at midnight in the parking lot of the Santa Claus House doing “brodies” around the property in a maroon SUV. The camera caught the vehicle circling the Santa statue and knocking over parking barriers and then driving into the Santa Claus House parking lot entryway.

Caole then allegedly retrieved a scoped firearm from the vehicle, pointed it at the security camera while flipping it off.
