GARLAND, Texas — Byron Nelson's volleyball team continued a season of dominance Saturday evening.
In three straight sets, the Bobcats beat the Pearland Dawson Eagles to claim the 6A Division 1 state championship title. The win, a perfect end to a perfect 41-0 season. Saturday's victory makes Byron Nelson back-to-back state championships and marks their third state title in the program's history.
Over the past two seasons, the Bobcats have only lost one game, making them the second team in the UIL's top classification to achieve two-straight championships while only losing once. The only other school to do that was Houston Clear Lake, which went 36-0 in 1983 and 34-1 in 1984.
