CROCKETT, Texas — A suspect accused of continuously sexual abuse of a child who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after evading law enforcement in Houston County has now been identified.

The suspect, who police identified as Corbin Drake Lamb, 32, of Crockett, was wanted out of Houston County for continuous abuse of a child. Crockett police officers were assisting the Houston County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.

Officers attempted a traffic stop on Durrett Drive at West Goliad Ave. Friday afternoon. Police say Lamb evaded police, leading them out of Crockett onto FM 229 and then onto multiple county roads and FM roads. Around 30 minutes into the pursuit, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper used spike strips in the 6000 block of FM 227, deflating Lamb's tires.
