An Antiques Roadshow guest was left gobsmacked when she discovered that a brooch she believed to be costume jewellery was actually worth thousands of pounds.
On Sunday evening's episode (November 23) of the BBC favourite, a woman took along a brooch that had almost been stolen from her family but was saved by her grandfather. She had always been apprehensive about wearing it for fear of losing it, believing it to be "worth maybe £50 to £100".
She was astounded when expert Siobhan Tyrrell informed her that the piece, dating back to the 1800s, was actually valued at a staggering £4,000 to £6,000, reports the Express .
