BROSSARD - The Montreal Canadiens agreed to terms on a one-year, $1-million deal with forward Alexandre Texier on Sunday.
Montreal also recalled defenceman Adam Engstrom from the AHL’s Laval Rocket.
Texier registered an assist in eight games this season with the St. Louis Blues. Texier was in his second campaign with the Blues after spending the first five years of his career with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The six-foot-one, 196-pound native of France has appeared in 240 career NHL regular-season games, recording 40 goals and 51 assists. Texier has also played in 21 playoff contests, accumulating two goals and six assists.
Engstrom has played 18 games with Laval this season, scoring five goals and adding nine assists. The 22-year-old leads all AHL defencemen in goals.
