MADISON, Wis. ( WMTV /Gray News) — Authorities in Wisconsin are searching for a woman who was convicted in a Slender Man stabbing more than 10 years ago after she disappeared Saturday night.

Police in Madison said Morgan Geyser was last seen in the area of Kroncke Drive around 8 p.m. with an adult acquaintance. Her whereabouts are unknown as of Sunday morning.

Geyser is one of two people who were convicted in a stabbing of a female classmate in May 2014. Investigators at the time said the stabbing was motivated by an effort to appease the Slender Man, a fictional supernatural character, and to prove he was real.

Geyser was recently approved to be transferred to a group home in Sun Prairie after the facility declined her as a patient in August.
