22-year-old motorcyclist dies after crashing into power pole near Porterville

PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 22-year-old man has died after crashing a motorcycle into a power pole south of Porterville.

The California Highway Patrol was called to the accident on Avenue 224 around 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Officers say the rider was traveling at an unknown speed going east on Ave. 224 when he ran off the road and collided with a power pole.

It is unknown if the man was driving under the influence.

The crash is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Porterville CHP.
