SMITHFIELD, Va. — The Smithfield Police Department is investigating after they say one person intentionally struck another one with a car in the Taco Bell parking lot Sunday evening.

The victim is an adult male, according to a Smithfield Police Department spokesperson. They said he was “struck by a vehicle operated by another adult during an altercation" at the restaurant, located at 1294 Benns Church Boulevard.

Officers are still on scene investigating, collecting evidence, and interviewing all involved parties and witnesses.

The victim “has a significant injury to his leg,” the spokesperson said. He is stable and being evaluated at a hospital.
