INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – Student Tate McGovern has taken his wood shop class to the next level – by preparing his car for a cross-country camping trip.
The Independence High School senior is not just applying for places at college but looking forward to driving his completed project thousands of miles to visit some of the most famous national parks.
A school statement said: “Tate is transforming his 2010 Honda Odyssey into a fully customized camper.”
“With the help of fellow student Nathan Lu and guidance from woodshop teacher Mike Foor, Tate has spent months designing, building, and converting the inside of his van into a movable living space they plan to take on a cross-country trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone this summer.”
