LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Mary Ballenger sits in her van – the same van she drove to see her husband at work on Grade Lane on Nov. 4 when she said the UPS cargo plane – came toward them.
“I mean, I can feel my body jumping,” she recalled. “It’s like that even for my kids – [It’s] a constant reminder of we almost died in here.”
Ballenger felt instant jitters and nervousness when hearing a plane flying overhead.
“Seeing airplanes – hearing them. Then hearing them and not seeing them makes it even worse,” she described.
She and her granddaughter went to the hospital with injuries. A footprint was left burned into the carpet from the van that day.
