CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Twenty-one days after 17-year-old Dameon “Baby D” Meyers Jr. was shot and killed outside Lovejoy High School’s football stadium, his family said they are still waiting for answers and justice.
Clayton County Police said Meyers was shot on Halloween nigh t in the parking lot of the Lovejoy Library, which was being used as overflow parking for the game.
His father said the loss of his son has devastated their family.
“We called him 'Baby D' because he was my Junior,” Dameon Meyers Sr. said. “He just motivated people.”
Meyers, an aspiring barber known for giving free haircuts to seniors and cutting hair for people experiencing homelessness, was described as a kid with dreams.
