The North Little Rock Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one woman dead early Sunday morning, the agency announced.

According to a news release, around 2:14 a.m. officers responded to the 1900 block of Parker Street for a call about a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

When the officers arrived they found a woman who had at least one gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died of her injuries.
