ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - As Thanksgiving approaches, Greater Saint Lawrence Missionary Baptist Church in Alexandria plans to serve a free Thanksgiving dinner to community members in need. The dinner is organized by local community activist Alisha Jackson and will be held on November 24 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church, located at 2911 Cypress Street.

The menu will include classic Thanksgiving favorites such as turkey, yams, dressing, potato salad, and more! Organizers said the event is open to anyone who may be struggling financially and is intended to provide a hot meal and a place to sit, eat, and fellowship.

Pastor Otis W. Brown emphasized the church’s desire to treat guests with dignity and respect.
