PUUNENE (HawaiiNewsNow) - Bikes are often a popular gift for the holiday season, and one bike shop is asking for volunteers to help build bikes for keiki.
Volunteers are invited to help build bikes with Krank Cycles at the Cavalry Church on East Five Camp Road in Puunene for the Jim Falk Valley Isle Keiki Christmas Bike Build.
The goal is to provide at least 450 bikes to kids in need on Maui.
The bike building began Saturday and will continue for the next three Saturdays at 9 a.m., or until all bikes are finished.
Organizers ask volunteers who can to bring tools, tables, metric Alan sockets, wrenches, and cutters.
However, organizers said no mechanical ability is needed and that there will be tools available.
