Watertown is kicking off the holiday season with a new tradition: a downtown tree-lighting ceremony.
The event, organized by the Downtown Committee of H2O-2050 , will take place at 6 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Watertown Area Community Foundation Plaza, according to a community announcement.
Mayor Ried Holien will officially declare the holiday tree lit, marking the start of the festive season and the launch of the implementation phase of the H2O-2050 vision.
“This tree may be small today, but it represents a huge step forward for Watertown,” said Elicia Holien, one of the members of the H2O-2050 Downtown Committee. “As it grows, so will our downtown and our community.”
