A former Philadelphia Eagles head coach has been fired.
Chip Kelly was dismissed as the offensive coordinator for the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter .
Kelly was in the midst of his first season with Pete Carroll and the Raiders, who dropped to 2-9 after a lackluster 24-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 12.
First-round rookie running back Ashton Jeanty managed only 50 rushing yards on 17 carries in Kelly’s final game. Geno Smith attempted 44 passes and was sacked 10 (yes, 10) times.
Kelly joined Las Vegas after a successful stint as Ohio State’s offensive coordinator. He helped the Buckeyes win the national championship last season.
