A 32-year-old man has stressed the importance of listening to your intuition after an uneasy feeling about recurring tonsillitis led to a shock diagnosis.

Pawel Chmura started investigating his tonsillitis at the end of 2023, before an MRI scan led to the discovery of a tumour hidden under his tongue.

Pawel, who works as a front of house co-ordinator for a marketing agency in London, was diagnosed with mouth cancer at the beginning of 2024 and underwent major surgery.

Now, he has encouraged others to keep pushing for answers if they feel like something is wrong with their health.

Pawel said: "It all started from something entirely different. The year before I was diagnosed with mouth cancer, I was having issues with my tonsils.
