A Conservative councillor has challenged his council's strategy to enhance tourism by promoting connections with popular Netflix series Sex Education , which he branded as "18-rated".

Characterised as a "teen sex comedy drama", the show aired on Netflix across four series from 2019 to 2023, set in the fictional Moordale but shot throughout Tintern, the Wye Valley and Caerleon . The successful programme propelled Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa's career and also starred Gillian Anderson.

Its connections to Monmouthshire are featured in a 35-page document outlining how the county council will collaborate with the local tourism sector,
