ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - One person was killed and three others were injured in a crash in Jefferson County Sunday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 11 p.m.
A KIA Forte was trying to turn onto Upper Byrnes Mill Road but failed to yield to ongoing traffic.
A Chevy Equinox that was passing by struck the passenger side of the KIA, causing both cars to go off the side of the road.
An 18-year-old woman inside the KIA was pronounced dead.
The driver of the KIA, a 21-year-old man, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Neither the passenger nor the driver of the Equinox was seriously injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
