Glasgow City Council has revealed 76 streets are set to be granted exemptions from pavement parking restrictions.
Penalty charge notices of up to £100 can be issued to vehicles parked on the pavement on most streets in the city since March this year. An initial assessment found no exemption should apply on streets where parking restrictions were already in place or the carriageway was at least 7.5m wide — the width that would allow fire engines to pass through with cars on both sides.
However, hundreds of streets needed further assessment. That process has eliminated all but 76 streets from exemptions.
