Gary Humble ends state senate campaign just two months after launching bid to unseat Sen. Majority Leader Jack Johnson (R-Franklin), citing “personal and organizational commitments.”

Humble made the announcement on Friday afternoon, saying in part in a news release , “after much prayer, thought, and honest conversations with my family, I have reached the conclusion that this is not the right pursuit for me at this time.”

The founder and executive director of the right-wing organization Tennessee Stands will continue to run the organization that he says includes “some very important next steps,” adding, “our political system is not healthy.”
