The Northern Arizona University Lumberjack Marching Band has been invited to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, an enormous honor for the university that isn’t lost on Stephen Meyer, director of bands at NAU.

“They only select six or seven bands each year out of hundreds that apply,” he says. “In the band world, it is a huge honor and one of the achievements we all aspire to be part of and to have our students experience. It's a huge recognition of the work that we have done here at NAU and the way that we have tried to build the entire band program over the past five or six years.”
