Two people were killed and two others were seriously hurt, including two teenagers, after a crash in Apopka, the Florida Highway Patrol says.

According to the FHP, the crash happened just after 6 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Rock Springs Road and Alexandria Place Drive.

Troopers say an 18-year-old man from Apopka was driving a Mustang south on Rock Springs Road at a high rate of speed with a 17-year-old boy in the passenger seat. As the Mustang approached the intersection, the FHP says a van being driven by a 63-year-old man was heading north in the left-turn lane and attempting to turn west onto Alexandria Place Drive.
