A Glasgow animal rescue centre is appealing for donations of scratching posts following a cat flu outbreak. The Scottish SPCA in Glasgow is asking animal lovers for their help following the outbreak.
Some of the felines at the Cardonald centre were recently affected by cat flu. Alongside treatment and keeping them all as comfortable as possible, the centre has also been tasked with making sure a high level of hygiene is maintained, to ensure sick cats are quarantined and so illness is not spread to healthy ones.
However, this has meant that staff have been forced to dispose of some of the well-loved scratch posts. One of the cats sadly affected has been Smokey, who was housed in the cattery during the most recent outbreak.
He has since recovered and is now looking for his forever
