British Gas, OVO and Octopus customers are being urged to close their energy accounts - because a major rival is offering them discounted bills.

The new E.ON Next fixed tariff offers £170 savings against the new Energy Price Cap, making it currently the cheapest 12m fixed product of its respective term available from the major suppliers.

Next Fixed 12m is now priced at £1,588 (previously £1598) for a typical household using gas and electricity, with a £50 per fuel exit fee. The tariff offers savings of £170 against the new energy price cap, which is set at £1,758 for a typical household between 1 January and 31 March 2026.
