Amateur sky watchers believe a meteorite fell to earth in northeast Michigan Sunday morning, Nov. 23, and many people have posted video online of the space debris streaking overhead.
Michigan Storm Chasers, a Facebook profile dedicated to statewide weather, albeit an unofficial platform, posted video of an unconfirmed meteorite sighting at 5:30 a.m. Nov. 23. Multiple people reacting to the post also shared photos and video of an object streaking through the sky.
A space object, known as a meteoroid, becomes a meteorite if it crashes into the Earth's surface, according to NASA.
