Queen legend Brian May has opened up about the unexpected response to one of the band's most celebrated songs, Bohemian Rhapsody. This year marks 50 years since the track's release, after it dominated the charts for an extraordinary nine weeks in 1975.
Launched during a period of financial difficulty and soaring inflation, the group initially thought the song would simply be a "nice track" for their album A Night At the Opera. Yet, it resulted in a dramatic transformation for the band and remains recognised to this day as one of their most recognised recordings.
