IONIA COUNTY, MI — University of Michigan’s Board of Regents has approved a $28 million expansion of a network hospital at 3565 S State Road in Ionia.
The board during its Nov. 20 meeting approved U-M Health-Sparrow Ionia’s request to construct a 31,000-square-foot ambulatory center adjacent to the existing hospital.
The new ambulatory center is expected to improve patient access to health care services in Ionia. It will house services including primary care, imaging, oncology, orthopedics and cardiology.
“This new building will reflect University of Michigan Health’s ongoing commitment to serving our patients as close to home as possible by providing high-quality health care to all the communities in which we serve,” said Dr. David Miller, University of Michigan executive vice presiden
