Celtic are close to appointing Wilfried Nancy as their new manager, according to a report. ‌

Record Sport exclusively revealed that the Columbus Crew head coach had kicked off talks with the Hoops earlier this month , with the plan to have the Frenchman in place before last Friday's AGM. ‌

However, that wasn't possible and the club confirmed that Martin O'Neill would take charge of Saturday's Premiership clash with St Mirren. ‌

Sky Sports now claim that talks with Nancy are at an advanced stage and he will likely make his dugout debut at home to Dundee on Wednesday December 3.

O'Neill and assistant Shaun Maloney will take the squad to Rotterdam for this Thursday's Europa League clash with Feyenoord and remain in charge for the weekend trip to the cap
